BA Celebrates the Year of the Dragon

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, British Airways is adding special touches on both the ground and in-flight this festive season. 

From today, passengers travelling between London and Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore can savour traditional festive menus that are laden with symbolism of luck and prosperity.

Beef & broccoli in First Class

In First Class, passengers can indulge in a delectable black pepper spiced fillet of beef accompanied by Chinese seven-spiced broccolini.

Meanwhile, those in Club World (Business Class) can relish the flavourful spicy Kung Pao prawn, a dish with historical ties to the Chinese Imperial Palace. Both First and Club World customers can top off their meal with a delightful white chocolate tangerine mousse, representing gold in Chinese culture.

Pork & oyster sauce - World Traveller Plus

Passengers in World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) cabin can savour the traditional Huaiyang dish known as Lion's Head meatballs, composed of steamed pork in oyster sauce. This dish, named for its resemblance to the head of a lion, symbolises family unity.

During the festival week, passengers passing through London Heathrow Terminal 5 will receive symbolic red envelopes containing chocolate coins, while lion dancers will entertain on the concourse.

White chocolate tangerine mousse - First & Business Class dessert

For travellers bound for London, British Airways' customer service teams will spread holiday cheer by surprising select customers with upgrades to Club World (Business Class) and access to airport lounges, making their journeys truly exceptional. These upgrades will be granted to a fortunate few born in the Year of the Dragon.

Customers can enjoy the airline's festive menu on flights between Singapore, Hong Kong, and London from 10th to 13th February. Flights between Beijing and London from 13th to 18th February, and Shanghai and London from 13th to 16th February. Upgrades will be offered to selected customers departing on flights from Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.
