British Airways has announced that it will start flying to mainland China later this year - after a two year hiatus.
Tickets are now on sale for flights from London Heathrow to Shanghai Pudong from 23 April and Beijing Daxing from 3 June. There will be daily flights to Shanghai and four flights a week to China's capital city.
Flights from Heathrow to Shanghai depart at 1225, arriving in Shanghai at 0755 (next day), returning at 1100 and arriving in London at 1825 (same day)
Flights from Heathrow to Beijing depart at 1505, arriving in Beijing at 0935 (next day), returning at 1120 and arriving in London at 1730 (same day)
Shanghai and Beijing flights in all four classes - First, Business (Club World), Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus) and Economy - are available to book now:
BA first flew to China in 1980 - interrupted only due to the pandemic.
The carrier is reassuring passengers that it is taking every precaution inflight. The air on all British Airways’ flights is fully recycled once every two to three minutes through HEPA filters, which remove microscopic bacteria and virus clusters with more than 99.9% efficiency, equivalent to hospital operating theatre standards!
