British Airways will launch its inaugural flight to Tromsø, Norway, from London Heathrow on 1st December. Tromsø will become the airline’s northernmost destination globally, and bookings are now open.
Tromsø is renowned as one of the premier locations worldwide to witness the Aurora Borealis, due to its central location within the Northern Lights' oval. With average winter temperatures between 0°C and -5°C, the city also boasts abundant snowfall, making it ideal for winter activities including skiing, mountaineering, and whale watching.
Located within the Arctic Circle, this winter wonderland is also a favorite for those who love exploring Christmas markets. The city's most picturesque market and Christmas tree can be found in the main square, Stortorget.
Return flights are currently available from GBP153 (NOK 2,000) and will operate twice a week until 27th March 2025. Customers can include skiing or snowboarding equipment as part of their checked baggage, provided the bag dimensions do not exceed 190 x 75 x 65 cm.
