The Taiwanese state-owned carrier - China Airlines - has joined the trend of installing “true” flatbed Business Class seats into single-aisle aircraft.
The new seats will be offered on board the new Airbus A321neo, a narrowbody aircraft with a maximum range of 7,400 kilometres. China Airlines has accepted delivery of the first of twenty five A321neo aircraft from European manufacturer.
Each of the airline's A321neo aircraft will feature 12 seats in the Business Class cabin - although with a 2-2 configuration, the passenger by the window will still have to step over their seatmate to reach the aisle.
Each set of seats is fitted with extra-high partitions aimed at reducing contact and increasing privacy for each Business Class passenger.
The seats all comes with a 15.6 inch HD screen and passengers access and control the entertainment system on their smartphone, sending audio to wireless headphones or earbuds by Bluetooth.
China Airlines will be using its new A321neo aircraft to replace its ageing Boeing 737-800s fleet of eighteen planes. The new fleet will be flying the airline’s regional routes in and around Taiwan. China Airlines joins fellow Taiwanese carriers - Eva Air and Starlux Airlines - in using the fuel-efficient A321 model.
