Crew serving ITA Airways are sporting new designer uniforms and the airline has unveiled a fresh lounge at Rome Fiumicino Airport. The Italian airline has also introduced an Airbus 320neo aircraft boasting interiors by the legendary Italian car designer Walter De Silva.
Italian luxury fashion designer Brunello Cucinelli created the uniforms - contributing his creative talent free of charge. The men's attire features neatly tailored trousers and a one-and-a-half-breasted jacket, while the women's ensemble includes a jacket and pants set or a skirt, combining sophisticated tailoring with a modern touch.
An "art wears sustainability" initiative will involve independent artists from Italian fashion and design institutes transforming the airline's old uniforms into art pieces.
The airline - which was created in 2020 after the failure of Alitalia - has also introduced the Hangar Lounge, its fourth airport lounge and third at Rome's Fiumicino Airport.
The 980 square metre lounge, situated in the Schengen section of the airport, can host 150 guests. It features: hot buffet stations, cocktail bar, Poltrona Frau armchairs, shower facilities, workstations, and a VIP conference room. Open daily from 0600 to 2300, access is granted to eligible passengers or can be purchased by those with an ITA Airways ticket.
Finally, ITA has unveiled a new A320neo aircraft named after figure-skating champion Carolina Kostner, with interiors by Walter De Silva “emphasise comfort, elegance, and simplicity through the use of materials and colours.”
