Air France has curated a collection of five signature dresses that encapsulate various facets of the airline: technological advancements, sartorial history, iconic advertising, culinary arts, and design elements. These garments serve as a creative exploration of themes that have allowed Air France to continually set standards, often far ahead of its time.
The collection was brought to life in collaboration with Xavier Ronze, who leads the costume design workshops at the Paris Opera Ballet. Ronze skillfully blended iconic elements from Air France's past with contemporary flair, creating a powerful narrative that captures the best of both the airline and French craftsmanship.
Galeries Lafayette, a mecca of fashion in central Paris, was the natural choice for Air France to display its anniversary collection. During the exhibit, the airline will recount its illustrious history and commitment to future excellence through the windows of this landmark store. A curated selection of vintage Air France memorabilia and contemporary offerings will accentuate 90 years of superior in-flight service, iconic planes, and trend-setting uniforms.
Open to both local and international visitors, this accessible exhibition allows everyone to either reminisce about their treasured Air France experiences or discover the airline's storied heritage for the first time.
Throughout the celebration period, visitors can enjoy fashion shows at Galeries Lafayette, retracing 90 years of French sartorial elegance. Models will don various uniforms from Air France’s history, ranging from the earliest outfits to designer pieces by luminaries like Christian Dior and Cristóbal Balenciaga.
