LATAM Airlines - the largest airline in South America - has unveiled a new Business Class menu featuring Latin American dishes.
Created by the airlines Executive Chef, Felipe Gutiérrez, the ingredients hail from the markets where LATAM is based, including Chile, Peru, Brazil and Ecuador. The dishes will be paired with wines chosen by the only Master Sommelier in Latin America - Hector Vergara.
A spokesman for LATAM said “We are a multicultural company, and in this sense, we want to bring our customers closer to the flavours of our continent with a new menu that highlights local products and high-quality cuisine.”
To this end, Business Class passengers can enjoy a Chilean breakfast - Churrasca (fried bread) packed with goat cheese, avocado, and roasted tomato, a Peruvian main dish of grilled chicken thigh with hot huancaína sauce, ollucos cake, and grilled vegetable sticks or a Brazilian Baiao de Dois - made of rice and beans with seafood.
Depending on the month and departure point, Business Class passengers will treated to these LATAM specialities - which use as many local ingredients as possible.
LATAM flies to 144 destinations including North America, South America, Europe, and Oceania - with its South Africa Johannesberg route relaunching this year.
