Beginning in mid-January 2024, Lufthansa will introduce complimentary unlimited messaging on its A320 family aircraft during short- and medium-haul flights. Passengers will have the ability to send and exchange messages, including photo content, without any cost using their personal smartphones or tablets.
Additionally, the airline will cut prices for other onboard internet services, such as streaming, by nearly 50 percent starting the same period.
Heiko Reitz, CCO of Lufthansa Airlines, notes, "Lufthansa is dedicating approximately two billion euros towards enhancing our products and services. This investment encompasses a wide range of initiatives—large, medium, and small—all designed to enrich the Lufthansa travel experience. A prime example is our new Free Messaging service. It's gratifying to know that our passengers will soon be able to connect with friends, family, or business associates while flying, at no extra cost."
To access this new complimentary feature, passengers must log into FlyNet using either their Miles & More service card number or an email associated with a Lufthansa Group Travel ID. Should passengers need to, they can also sign up for a new account during their flight.
