Malaysia Airlines is upping the ante in the competition for in-flight Wi-Fi services by offering all passengers free and unlimited Internet access, regardless of their seat class or frequent flyer status.
This move distinguishes them from the likes of Singapore Airlines, which earlier this year provided complimentary Wi-Fi only to its KrisFlyer members, and from carriers Emirates and Etihad, which limit free messaging services to their most frequent travellers.
The service initially takes flight aboard six of its Airbus A350s and 14 A330s. The Oneworld alliance airline has also announced that this perk will soon expand to include select narrow-body aircraft in a phased introduction.
Malaysia Airlines CEO, Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, expressed the airline's excitement in being one of the pioneers in offering this service to all passengers, reinforcing their position at the forefront of customer convenience.
Malaysia Airlines is set to introduce a brand-new international Business Class on its upcoming Airbus A330neo aircraft starting from the end of 2024, and will begin a mid-life update for its A350 fleet in 2026.
The new Business Class will feature Business Studio suites, ensuring passengers enjoy privacy with sliding doors.
