A new Qantas Club Lounge has opened at Rockhampton Airport, Central Queensland, Australia. The new 200 square metre lounge doubles the capacity of the old lounge – which closed in 2020 – with seating for up to 65 guests.
The new Club Lounge, with views of the tarmac, features dedicated work areas for business travellers, high-speed Wi-Fi, premium Australian beers and wines, and a selection of savoury snacks and sweet treats. Displayed artwork from local indigenous artist Brandon Butler represents a journey onto the Darumbal Country – the airport's location.
Regional QantasLink frequent fliers will receive an elevated experience before departing the airport, which operates 48 weekly services from Brisbane and Mackay using the airline's Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and Boeing 717 aircraft that provide 12 Business Class seats.
Access to the Club Lounge is open to Qantas Club members, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One and eligible oneworld frequent fliers, one hour before each Qantas-operated service until the last departure.

Meanwhile, Alaska Airlines is soon to complete expansion works to its Alaska Lounge at Seattle Tacoma Airport C Concourse, offering an additional 278 square metres of space and nearly 60 more seats. The lounge opens daily from 6 a.m. until midnight., located on the mezzanine level next to Gate C-16.
Then on January 7, 2023, the airline's Tacoma D Concourse Lounge will close for a complete overhaul, with plans to reopen in the summer with the remodelled lounge offering an additional 30 per cent more seating and a new bar, buffet and barista station.
This work follows recent improvements to the lounges at Portland Airport, which now sees an indoor patio area and 30 additional seats in Concourse C, a temporary new Express Lounge at Concourse B, and a new Alaska Lounge at San Francisco Airport.
Alaska Airlines' Elite status members can access the lounges, including Alaska MVP, Gold, Gold 75K, and Gold 100K, travelling on oneworld tickets outside the US, Canada, or Mexico.
