Qantas has officially reopened its Hong Kong International premium lounge as part of the airline's AUD100 million investment in its acclaimed global lounge network.
First launched in 2014, the popular Qantas lounge was temporarily closed during the pandemic before undergoing renovations.
Qantas Chief Customer Officer Markus Svensson expressed the airline's pride in continuing its investment in Hong Kong as demand in the region increases. "We are thrilled to reintroduce the Hong Kong International Lounge, now better than ever," said Mr. Svensson.
Qantas has witnessed strong demand since resuming flights to Hong Kong in January. The Lounge's reopening is part of the airline's expanded investment in customer experience.
The revamped 2,000-square-metre Lounge features an updated warm colour scheme and new furniture by Australian designer David Caon, accommodating 290 guests and providing panoramic views of Hong Kong's iconic Sky Bridge. The original design has been preserved, while elements such as tiles and screens have been refreshed to create distinct zones and a sense of privacy.
Qantas Creative Director of Food, Beverage, and Service, Neil Perry, has crafted a menu of local dishes inspired by regional flavors and ingredients, including the much-loved Yum Cha trolley and char siu Chinese barbeque pork dish. The spacious bar area will offer a variety of premium Australian wines, beers, and spirits, alongside Neil Perry-designed cocktails and Qantas' Quench hydration station for wellness-focused beverages.
Guests can choose to dine in the formal dining area or the more casual lounge seating area. With Qantas' flights currently scheduled overnight between Hong Kong and Australia, business travelers can catch up on work in the business zone, equipped with ample power and data outlets and high-speed Wi-Fi. To unwind before their flight, passengers can freshen up in one of the 12 luxury private shower suites featuring Li'Tya amenities.
Eligible Qantas lounge customers include: Qantas tiered Frequent Flyers (Gold and above), customers travelling in Business Class and First on Qantas operated flights and eligible oneworld and partner airline customers.
Qantas currently operates daily round-trip flights between Sydney and Hong Kong using a mix of A380 and A330 aircraft, offering Business Suites with lie-flat beds. Starting in June, Qantas will resume flights between Melbourne and Hong Kong, initially operating three days per week and increasing to four weekly services from mid-July.
