Passengers flying Business Class on Qantas A380-operated flight QF2 between Singapore and Sydney are in for a treat. Australia's flag carrier is launching a new Business Class dinner service that provides more personal service - literally serving dinner in bed!
Business Class passengers choose their dinner option from the menu. The crew will then make it up on the galley - on a single tray. This then gets delivered to the passenger at the appointed time.
The Room Service Supper replaces the traditional Qantas service where crew zip up & down the aisles using carts - and its hoped that this will cut down on noise and crew movement. Qantas insists that passengers will still get a full meal - wine and all - but noticed that half its Business Class and First Class passengers on the Singapore to Sydney route ate at the Lounge and went straight to sleep after takeoff.
Although the Room Service Supper is still a trial, if it is a success, Qantas will look at all its overnight Asia to Australia flights and implement the service there too.
