United has unveiled its most extensive upgrade to its Polaris international Business Class in seven years. Teaming up with renowned brands including Therabody and Saks Fifth Avenue, the airline is set to offer its passengers "the best sleep in the sky."
A survey for United has shown that a significant 83% of global travellers deem good sleep paramount during a flight, with 61% selecting flights based on this factor. Furthermore, in-flight sleep trumps other services like Wi-Fi access, binge-watching favorite shows, and beverage services for 66%, 74%, and 61% of travellers, respectively.
This revamp introduces an exclusive Therabody amenity kit onboard, packed with essentials like eye serum, face spray, hand cream, and a cleansing towelette. In addition, eco-conscious travellers will appreciate the new Saks Fifth Avenue bedding made partly from recycled plastic, featuring a limited-edition day blanket designed by the fashion designer Claude Kameni, recognised as a leading Black designer in 2023.
The year has witnessed a 20% growth in United's international bookings compared to 2022, with a 30% increase in bookings for premium seats – United Polaris and United Premium Plus.

United's partnership with Therabody encompasses a holistic wellness experience. The onboard amenity kit, designed to rejuvenate passengers after a long journey, features a myriad of TheraFace skincare products housed in a recyclable belt bag. Therabody's Reset Suites, offering a unique wellness experience, are also set to debut at all United Polaris lounges this fall.
The refreshed Saks Fifth Avenue bedding offers passengers comfort with a touch of style, including an exclusive cool gel pillow and a day blanket designed by Claude Kameni.
This year, United has enriched its Polaris food and beverage selection, including the reintroduction of the much-loved ice cream sundae cart and close to 100 new menu items.
