Virgin Atlantic has introduced its inaugural lifestyle collection. This range features trendy clothing and vegan leather travel accessories, crafted to enhance every aspect of the traveller's journey.
The collection was created in partnership with prominent sustainable British designers Fenella Smith and Oliver Co. This collaboration was driven by Virgin Atlantic's frequent reception of requests for travel essentials, such as passport covers and travel totes, leading to the realisation of these items through the expertise of these renowned British designers.
The collection showcases premium pieces like the 'Queen of the Skies' jumper, priced at GBP 70. This piece draws inspiration from the ‘Fly Virgin Atlantic’ sweatshirt, which gained fame in the 1980s when worn by Princess Diana. Available in classic navy and cream, the jumper reflects Virgin Atlantic's chic style, crafted from ultra-soft cotton, suitable for various occasions.
Additionally, the collection includes a jumper featuring Oscar, the airline's LGBTQ+ icon, displayed on Virgin Atlantic’s ‘Rain Bow’ plane. This highlights the airline's longstanding support for the LGBTQ+ community and its updated gender identity policy, allowing staff to select the uniform that best represents their gender identity and expression.
The range includes a luxury canvas travel tote (GBP 90), a flight bag (GBP 95), jumpers, t-shirts adorned with the airline's iconic symbols (GBP 70/GBP 35), a Runway ready pouch (GBP 60), High Flyer passport holders (GBP 70), Hello luggage tags (GBP 40), and Virgin Atlantic playing cards (GBP 12). These items are designed with Virgin Atlantic’s distinctive red color, seamlessly integrated into each product. The collection also introduces Virgin Atlantic’s pronoun badges for purchase, a part of the airline's uniform policy update.
Items designed with Oliver Co, such as the passport holder, luggage tag, pouch, and card holder, are crafted from tea-based plant leather, adding a British touch to this classic collection. This tea-based material is more energy-efficient in production compared to other plant-based leathers.
