What is Premium Economy?
Premium Economy was first introduced to the world in 1991 and was created as a bridge between economy and Business Class. It offers passengers better perks, points and legroom than economy and is ideal for cost-conscious passengers - especially families - on longer haul routes.
Over time, as many airlines drop First Class, Premium Economy has become the "middle” cabin and has taken on greater importance. Better cuisine, inflight entertainment and enhanced amenity kits are being offered - making it a much more luxurious experience than in the past. You still will not have use of a dedicated lounge or amazing suites that are available only to First and Business Class passengers but speedier boarding always helps!

Premium Economy seats on the Airbus A350-900/1000 and select Boeing 777-300ER aircraft are equipped with a full-length leg rest, leather-padded footrests, a retractable armrest that can be adjusted and a headrest. Seats include a dimmable personal reading light, a slide-out cocktail table, a larger meal table, an in-seat power outlet and amenity storage. The Premium Economy cabin houses between 28 and 32 seats on the A350 and between 32 and 34 seats on the B777-300, and all come in a 2-4-2 configuration, while 27-centimetre (10.6-inch) or 30-centimetre (12-inch) in-flight entertainment touchscreens come with noise-cancelling headphones and an extensive range of content.

Passengers are welcomed onboard with a glass of Champagne, and the upgraded in-flight menu is diverse, healthy and created around Hong Kong flavours. With a complimentary selection of wines, beers and spirits, Premium Economy passengers can also sample the exclusive Betsy Beer – specifically crafted for drinking at altitude.
Additional Perks
The journey begins with dedicated check-in, priority boarding, and enhanced baggage allowance of 2 x 23 kilogramme bags. Passengers can stay refreshed on board with a helpful amenity kit containing essential items such as eyeshades, earplugs, a toothbrush and toothpaste. They also enjoy a separate, more intimate cabin.
