IHG køber Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants - bliver ledende indenfor boutiquehoteller

Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) meddelte tidligere at man køber hotelkæden Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants med målsætningen at skabe verdens største hotelkæde med boutiquehoteller. Handlen har en værdi på 430 millioner dollars, knap 2,9 milliarder kroner. Kimpton har i dag 62 hoteller i USA og yderligere 16 hoteller på vej. De driver desuden 71 restauranter og barer. Hos IHG ser man opkøbet som et godt komplement til IHGs eksisterende varemærker Hotel Indigo og EVEN hotels som til sammen med Kimptonhotellerne gør at IHG på fremover vil driver mere end 200 boutiquehoteller og livsstilshoteller i 19 lande.
