American Airlines has launched an extensive program to refurbish its Admirals Club lounges. The program is the largest in the airline's history and the goal is to give the lounges a more modern feel.
The first two lounges to get the new design will be the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Lounge and the Guarulhos Lounge outside São Paulo. Both of these are now closed for renovation. These will be followed by Miami, New York JFK, Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles later this year, and then Chicago and London next year. Eventually, all Admiral's Club will have the new design. - “In the future, when our customers see an Admirals Club sign somewhere in the world, they will know that they have found a reliable and modern lounge where they can charge their electronics, grab something to eat, check their e-mails or just to relax”, explains Fernand Fernandez, American Airlines Vice President of Global Marketing. The newly renovated lounges will be instantly recognisable at the entrance where you will find the American Airlines logo on a white glass background, and in the subsequent lounge lobby, staff will work at new modern podiums. Inside, the lounges design will consist of shades of grey with bright red accents that are amplified with different lighting effects. Interior fittings will be in white oak and stainless steel. “Our goal is to create a place that matches the way people live and spend their time”, continues Fernandez.
