British Airways has launched its own exclusive brand of gin to be served to its premium customers.

Uniquely developed through extensive taste tests

with First customers at the Concorde Room bar in London, the gin has been blended by

award-winning Cambridge Distillery,

the world’s first ‘gin tailor’, according to a press release from BA.

The airline’s ‘mother’s ruin’ is characterised by a variety of herbs such as basil, rosemary and thyme, all gathered from the distillery's own gardens in Cambridge.

To ensure that each herb is distilled under the right conditions occur, every herb is distilled separately before finally being gently mixed together to form a perfect balance of flavour in the final product. Each bottle is also

wax sealed

by hand.

Gin and tonic is one of BA's most popular drinks, with customers downing more than three million of them each year
