Cathay Pacific has opened its new lounge in Bangkok

On June 9th, Cathay Pacific reopened their lounge at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, located on the third floor of the G pier. The lounge has been re-decorated with Cathay Pacific's new lounge design, the same design on show in Cathay’s newest lounges in Manila and Tokyo Haneda. The design was developed by the British design firm Studioilse, headed by Ilse Crawford. The lounge area is 679 square metres, much larger than the previous lounge, with seating for over 140 guests. The opening of this lounge coincides with the closure of Cathay Pacific's other lounge in the D-pier. The idea behind the interior is for it to feel homely and comfortable, more than just an airport lounge with designer furniture and pleasant lighting. The lounge offers good views of the runway through large panoramic windows. These windows also allow the lounge to be filled with plenty of natural light. The redesign of the lounge has also included a major focus on food and drink. There is now ‘The Noodle Bar’ which offers wonton noodle soup and tom-yam soup made to order. Traditional Thai breakfast is served until 11am. The ‘Food Bar’ has light foods, like salads, pastries and desserts, and drinks and cocktails can be ordered from ‘The Bar’, along with non-alcoholic options.
