Emirates is setting the pace for airlines on social media by becoming the first in the world to gain 1 million Instagram followers.
Emirates launched its profile on the popular photo and video-sharing platform in November 2013. In just over two years since, the airline’s content has generated over 5.8 million likes and comments. Emirates has said it uses the channel to tell visual stories that embody what the brand stands for: connecting people with what they love. Concepts such as “Emirates Cabin Crew Instagrammers” - where six members of the airline’s cabin crew took over the Emirates Instagram channel to showcase their life, travels and experiences - were hugely popular.
