Emirates launches new China routes
Emirates has launched new routes to the Chinese cities of Yinchuan and Zhengzhou, two of the fastest growing cities in China. This means that Emirates now serve five destinations on the Chinese mainland from its Dubai hub - Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, in addition to the two latest additions.
Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, was on board the inaugural flight. He commented: “Emirates is very pleased to start services to Yinchuan and Zhengzhou. This new route will provide citizens in and near both cities with convenient and fast connections to destinations in the Middle East, Africa and Europe via Dubai.”
Dubai is well-positioned for connections between China and Europe - as well as being the largest import and export city in the Middle East, with the new routes sure to strengthen Emirates’ trading capabilities with China. “We are confident the new air transport links will also help boost trade and tourism flows to the growing central and western parts of China where these cities are located,” Al Maktoum continued.
