Etihad Axes Free Pyjamas In Business Class

In a bid to save costs, Etihad Airways has stopped handing out free sleepwear to its business class passengers. The change only affects those travelling in business, though, as loungewear will now be exclusive to The Residence and first class only.

The discontinuation of free pyjamas is the latest in a string of cutbacks from the Gulf airline, which has already

put a stop to its complimentary chauffeur

service for its business and first customers, restricted internet usage, and permanently close its Six Senses airport lounge spa at London's Heathrow Airport.

Some frequent fliers are calling these cut backs worrying, not least for an airline that has been considered one of the most luxurious for a number of years.

If this purse-tightening continues, many who have come to associate Etihad with luxury may well be looking elsewhere when it comes to booking their next trip. It looks to be a vital 12 months for the airline.

So, the next time you fly with Etihad, make sure to bring your own PJs - unless you’re flying in The Residence, that is.
