Finnair has announced it will welcome its first Airbus A350 XWB aircraft from Airbus in a delivery ceremony planned for October 7. Finnair has 19 Airbus A350 XWB aircraft on order, scheduled to be delivered between 2015-2023.
For the first few weeks, the new aircraft will serve crew familiarisation flights in Europe, with the first commercial flights taking place on October 9 to Amsterdam and Oslo. The aircraft will then enter long-haul service on November 21 on the route from Helsinki to Shanghai, followed by Beijing, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore. Finnair will also become the first airline to fly the A350 XWB to the US when it departs to New York later this year.
