Finnair has decided on its new vision for the future - to create a unique Nordic experience. The decision was taken at a board meeting prior to the summer and is about creating a business based on quality, reliability, safety and design inspired by the pure Nordic nature. The vision is expressed, for example, in easy-to-use digital services and in the enhancement of Business Class services.
Finnair's goal is also to continue to connect Asia and North America to the northern parts of Europe through fast and flexible connections via its hub in Helsinki. They will also aim to offer the best network from their home markets. The board has also set a target to double Asian traffic by 2020, starting from the 2010 level. This shall be done by creating a unique customer experience and a world-class operation. Services between Europe and Asia will be the cornerstone of Finnair’s vision for the future and is partly based on a number of growing markets in Asia, as well as Helsinki's strategic location that means most flights between Asia and Northern Europe pass near Helsinki anyway. Six strategic objectives have also been established for the years 2015-2017: Further growth in Northeast Asia, customer excellence, staff focus and Finnair culture, digitalisation, capital structure, and world-class operations.
