First Look: New United Polaris Lounge At San Francisco International Airport

From April 30, passengers travelling in United Polaris cabin (Business Class) will be able to relax and dine in the swanky new United Polaris lounge located in the International Terminal near Gate G92 at SFO.

Spread over two levels and more than 28,000 square feet, the lounge features 440 seats of 19 different types, eight luxurious shower suites, five private day beds outfitted with Saks Fifth Avenue bedding, and a number of “thoughtful California touches” that offer guests a glimpse into “the Bay Area's unique aesthetic”.

There is a private restaurant-style dining area called the "The Dining Room" that features a menu designed by Chef Tritia Gestuvo, a California native, that blends international comfort foods — such as a traditional Chinese congee breakfast and hand-cut pappardelle pasta with mushroom ragout — with staples like the United Polaris Burger.

A bistro-like buffet includes a ramen noodle bar in the afternoon and treats that align with the flight schedule and destinations of United and Star Alliance partners. Cocktails inspired by the Bay Area are also available. These include the Mai Tai, invented in Oakland in 1944, and the Pisco Punch.

Another United Polaris lounge is planned to open at Newark Liberty International Airport by early June, as well as a lounge at George Bush Intercontinental in Houston this summer and a lounge at Los Angeles International Airport in Autumn.
