First photos of Finnair’s new Schengen Lounge in Helsinki

On July 1, the current Schengen lounge, between Gates 23 and 26, in what is formally known as terminal 2, closed. The lounge will not only get a new interior and design, but also a much needed expansion with several new spaces. Today we can publish the first pictures of what is to come when the lounge re-opens in the Autumn. It is the lounge next door which is being taken over, usually called "Lounge 2". With the two lounges combining, the area will more than double in capacity, from 120 seats, to a complete 250. Other exciting news from the lounge is a children's play area and shower cabins for those who want to take a shower after a long journey. The lounge has been designed by Vertti Kivi, the same designer who designed the new lounge in the Asian terminal.
