As one of the most sought after services for today’s tech-savvy traveller, it is somewhat surprising that luxury hotel brand Four Seasons has charged for the service for so long.
However, that is no longer the case as Four Seasons now provides anyone who visits one of its properties, even those not actually staying at the hotel, with access to complimentary WiFi via a ‘one click’ connection. Four Season’s introduction of free WiFi follows in the footsteps of Hyatt, Hilton and Starwood, which all started offering complimentary internet access earlier this year. “We have introduced new global standards to give Four Seasons guests a seamless, convenient and higher quality internet experience, whether staying with us, using our mobile app or visiting the public areas of our hotels and resorts,” says Scott Taber, Senior Vice-President of Rooms, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The move comes after Four Seasons launched a mobile app earlier this year - “We want people to be using our mobile app while they are inside our hotel or in our outlets, so this gives people yet another reason or way to jump on the app." “In addition to free, faster Wi-Fi, with seamless, one-click service, guests no longer need multiple logins in different areas of the hotel, and they can access our Wi-Fi network with as many devices as they wish,” continued Taber. For those requiring more bandwidth for large file uploads and downloads, HD video streaming, gaming and entertainment, and audio or video conferencing, Four Seasons offers 20 MB for a fee.
