Hilton Paris Opera Hotel has re-opened after extensive renovations

The beginning of the year saw the grand re-opening of the new Hilton Paris Opera Hotel. It is one of Paris's oldest hotels and was originally opened in 1889. Up until a few years ago, it was known as the Hotel Concorde Opera Paris. The renovation has cost Hilton 50 million US dollars, around 35 million British Pounds. The original design was created by architect Juste Lisch, and it is his work that is being emulated. To succeed in this, design firm Richmond International have lent their expert hand. The hotel's most impressive area is ‘Le Grand Salon’ which serves as the hotel lobby, restaurant, bar and meeting place. The 268 rooms have also been refurbished along with the hotel's 30 suites. The most impressive suite is the "Maria Callas Suite”, which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room and high ceilings. If you stay in a club room or suite then you have access to the hotel’s club lounge. Hilton Paris Opera also offers a fitness centre, six meeting rooms and a ballroom with seating for up to 180 guests. If you wish to eat, Le Grand Salon is open from breakfast until cocktail service after midnight. In addition, there is ‘Le Petit Bar’ and ‘Café Terminus’. The hotel is located 80 metres from Saint Lazare train station.
