On May 19, 2016, Icelandair added a new destination to its network - Montreal in Quebec, Canada. It becomes Icelandair's fifth destination in Canada, and means that next year Icelandair will operate to 16 destinations in North America.

The route will be served from May 19 to November 8, with departures on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flight time between Reykjavik and Montreal will be just over five hours, and at Keflavik airport there are connections to and from several major European cities.
