Increased baggage allowance and priority delivery - New benefits for One World Sapphire and Emerald members

Airline alliance One World has introduced two new benefits for their most frequent travellers on Sapphire and Emerald level - very useful for those who frequently travel with checked baggage. All members on Sapphire and Emerald level will now get priority delivery of their checked baggage, which means it will appear first on the baggage carousel upon arrival. This applies regardless of cabin class. An additional piece of checked baggage has also been introduced for Sapphire members, a benefit that was previously only available to Emerald members. One World are following in the footsteps of Star Alliance and Skyteam who both already offer these benefits to Star Alliance Gold and Skyteam Elite Plus members. Airlines whose baggage rules apply in terms of kilos (weight concept) will now offer an additional 15kg of extra baggage weight. Airlines whose baggage rules apply in terms of number of pieces (piece concept) will offer an extra bag weighing up to 23 kilos. This benefit does not apply to British Airways 'hand luggage only' tickets.
