Japan Airlines in collaboration with Beyond Meat, recently announced the decision to serve a plant-based Beyond Burger on select routes between March 1 and May 31, 2020.
As part of Japan Airlines (JAL) SDGs commitment, the carrier has continued to implement measures to raise awareness in developing a sustainable society. According to a third-party led Life Cycle Assessment, a Beyond Burger uses significantly less water, land, energy, and generates fewer greenhouse gas emissions than a standard 80/20 beef burger. Through this implementation, JAL aims to contribute to realizing a sustainable society by introducing the plant-based meat to JAL`s First Class customers traveling from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Tokyo.
Applicable Route: Los Angeles to Tokyo Narita – Flight JL061 (through March 28) Los Angeles to Tokyo Haneda – Flight JL015 (from March 29) San Francisco to Tokyo Haneda – Flight JL001 Applicable Class: JAL First Class (A LA CARTE)- Product Name: Beyond Burger
