It is now clear that London will be the premiere destination for Etihad's first Airbus A380. The maiden flight will be on December 27th on the route Abu Dhabi - London Heathrow, with a daily departure.

From Abu Dhabi, the flight will depart at 2:35am with flight number EY 011, arriving in London at 06:35am. In the opposite direction, the flight departs from Heathrow at 9.15am with flight number EY 012, with arrival in Abu Dhabi at 8:05pm. From March 1st, traffic will increase with a further A380 departure - an afternoon departure from Abu Dhabi with a night flight back from London. From June 2015, there will be three departures from London to Abu Dhabi served by an Airbus A380. The aircraft will als be introduced on the Abu Dhabi to Sydney route in June. Etihad's Airbus A380 has four cabin classes on board - a first class apartment, The Residence; 9 First Apartments; 70 Business Studios; and 417 Economy Smart seats. BusinessClass.co.uk was present at the launch of the new cabin products in the UAE in May and had the opportunity to test all the seats.
