Lufthansa is increasing services between Munich and Cape Town from five-times weekly to daily.

The increase is seasonal and will operate until March 27, 2016, after being launched earlier this week. The Cape Town route is served by a Boeing A340-600 with Lufthansa’s latest Premium Economy Class product on board - a product that has not been available on the route.

Lufthansa's Premium Economy product Speaking of the product, Andre Schulz, Lufthansa’s General Manager for South Africa, said, “Launched just 18 months ago, Lufthansa’s newest cabin of service has already become a benchmark in quality and service for passengers interested in upgrading their travel experience.” BusinessClass was on the very first flight of Lufthansa’s premium economy in October between Frankfurt and Washington. Additionally, Edelweiss, a Swiss subsidiary of Lufthansa Group, will connect Cape Town with Zurich twice-weekly during South Africa’s high season. Services will run from October 2015 until mid May 2016. Edelweiss has also recently completed a major refurbishment of their cabin, and now offers three classes - Business Class (with fully-flat seats), Economy Max and Economy Class.
