Lufthansa has opened a brand new lounge at Milan Malpensa Airport featuring some typical Milanese treats.

Passengers departing from the north Italian airport will be able to enjoy typical Milanese culinary delights such as aperitivo, fresh pasta, and barista-made espresso at the new Terminal 1A lounge.

The 550sqm lounge, which will be the design standard for Lufthansa lounges in the future, features seating for 117 guests, set out in such a way that comfort, privacy and a feel-good ambience allow for an ideal place to work and relax, according to Lufthansa.

“Lounge guests should feel as if they are at home in their living room,” the airline said in a press release.

Room dividing elements and an integrated lighting concept allow for different individual seating arrangements and custom lighting. There’s vast ceiling-high window that provides a fantastic view of the airport apron. Plush furniture and design classics from Vitra round off the stylish ambience, while the exclusive sanitary area was designed and equipped by Villeroy & Boch.

The highlight of the lounge is the cooking station, where guests can get freshly prepared meals "made in Italy” to satisfy their individual preferences. A barista is also on hand at the central bar to make freshly brewed coffee specialties and Italian aperitifs such as Campari, Martini and Aperol, which are served with finger food. There is also a Coffee Corner in the entrance area of the lounge for guests who are in a rush.
