Lufthansa Technik has teamed up with car manufacturer Mercedes Benz to develop and build the new VIP cabins for its aircraft. The aim is for the two companies to jointly develop an ”innovative, luxurious and integrated cabin concept for short and medium-haul aircraft." The idea for the future is to work with dynamic architecture instead of a traditional cabin design. Away with the traditional concept of a floor, ceiling and walls, and in with a new spiral layout that creates new surfaces which are not necessarily conventional. Mercedes will focus on the contrasts in materials, colours and lighting that will be reflected in the new cabin design, combined with contemporary luxury.
