On October 27th, German airline Lufthansa will start a new direct route between Frankfurt and the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. The route will be operated by an Airbus A340 with four flights per week. From December 11th, this will be increased to five departures per week. From Frankfurt, departure will be at 11:10, flight number LH 590, with arrival in Nairobi at 21.15. In the opposite direction, departure will be at 23:20, flight number LH 591, with arrival in Frankfurt at 05:55 the next morning. This provides good connections to and from the UK in both directions. Flight time is just over 8 hours and 20 minutes, and the aircraft being used is the Airbus A340-300. Roundtrip prices are from 649 EUR. According to Lufthansa, there is an increase in interest, especially among leisure travellers, to travel to Kenya, which is the main reason for the launch of the new route.
