New business class seats on Japan Airlines' Boeing 777-200ER

Japan Airlines today offers several different business class products, of which the airline has been widely praised for its Sky Suite, found aboard its Boeing 777-300ER, among other aircraft. On the B777, a 2-3-2 configuration is a convenient solution that enables all passengers direct access to the aisle without having to climb over other passengers. The seats are slightly staggered relative to each other, as illustrated.

Now the airline has announced it will replace business class seats on board its 11 Boeing 777-200ER used on international routes - initially on flights between Japan and Singapore, Bangkok and Hawaii.

Seats are to be configured in a 1-2-1 layout. When the new seat is fully reclined it is 198 cm long, while the width of the bed is 74 cm when the arm rest is lowered. In the seated position, the width is 52 cm. Entertainment on board is displayed via 17" high-resolution screens - a decent upgrade from the current 10" screens. Several storage spaces are available, as well as a power outlet, USB port and adjustable LED lighting.
