Early April saw the premiere of Air Berlin's new chocolate hearts, which are now supplied by a new company - the famous Swiss chocolate maker Lindt. The new hearts will continue to weigh just over 20 grams and will now be made with milk chocolate from the Alps and with a cocoa content of at least 30 percent. Chocolate Hearts are distributed upon disembarkation of all the Air Berlin short and medium-haul flights. On long-haul flights, hearts are given out to business class passengers before landing. Each year Air Berlin hands out some 13 million chocolate hearts. The new collaboration with Lindt means that there will also be Lindt chocolate for sale on the food wagon, including Lindt Hello Strawberry Cheesecake bars, chocolate balls, chocolate praline and Lindt Hello-chocolates. In business class, Lindt chocolate will also be offered with coffee after dinner.
