Qantas Opens New International Wing For New Nonstop Flights To London

Set to open on March 24, the spacious new international wing in Perth, Australia is designed to offer passengers a more intimate and smoother experience than T1. To start with, the new wing will handle just one flight at a time, meaning a calm atmosphere should pervade. There is, however, room for expansion as additional flights are added.

Featuring a variety of shops as well as a new Qantas lounge, the new area will swing between domestic and international operations depending on the time of day.

As of March 24, Qantas services to Singapore and Auckland will also operate from the new wing.

March 24 is also the day that Qantas will become the first airline to operate

Flown by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the 14,498-kilometre flight will be the first passenger service to directly link Australia with Europe, becoming the shortest and fastest version of the Kangaroo Route in its 70-year history.
