Qatar Airways is starting the new year by expanding its network across Eastern Europe. The Gulf airline is launching a new route to Belgrade, while increasing services to Zagreb, Budapest and Baku.

From March 16, Qatar Airways will launch new direct flights from Doha to Belgrade, a destination currently served by the airline via Sofia. The Serbian capital will be served four-times weekly. Flights to Zagreb and Budapest are increasing from a daily service to a ten-times weekly service from April 3 and July 3 respectively. Flights to Baku, Azerbaijan are increasing from a daily to an eleven-times weekly service from March 27. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways is expanding rapidly, not only in terms of new places and our network offering, but also with the service we offer. Complementing our service in the skies are our transfer facilities at the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport, coupled with the experience of flying on board one of the youngest fleets in the industry.” Qatar Airways have also increased capacity on its route to Moscow Domodedovo International Airport, replacing an A320 previously deployed on the route with a larger Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which offers 122 more seats per departure. Flights to Warsaw will also be upgraded to the Airbus A330 aircraft from July 1, increasing seat capacity on the daily service from Doha.
