As part of Qatar Airways’ ongoing expansion and commitment to the Indian market, it has reinstated a route to Nagpur in central India after an absence of more than six years.
From December 1, the Gulf carrier will resume non-stop flights from Doha to Nagpur. The daily service will see a two-cabin Airbus A320 deployed with 144 seats onboard, including 12 in business class. Qatar Airways previously operated to Nagpur between 2007 and 2009, and the reinstatement of this route sees the airline’s total weekly flights to India reach 102, covering 13 cities. Also from December 1, Qatar Airways will deploy a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on its Doha-Kolkata route, replacing the Airbus A320 that is currently used on the daily service.
Akbar Al Baker
, Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, said: “Reinstating the Doha-Nagpur route is part of Qatar Airways’ strategy to service increasing demand by providing the best possible flying experience to our customers in India. We will continue to look for more destinations and additional flights to expand our reach in the Indian subcontinent.”
