Thinking of escaping the impending winter gloom with a trip to Thailand?
Make sure to visit the laid-back Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort, which is set to re-launch in November after the completion of a £3.7 million upgrade.
With its “Chao Lay Southern Thai” design concept, the renovated resort offers a blend of authentic Thai architecture with a more modern tropical style.
Comfortable and airy bungalows have a local Thai village feel. Staying true to the region’s architectural roots, they have been built with local materials, with a design focused on air circulation to ensure the properties are kept cool all year-round amongst their tropical surroundings.
Commenting on the upgrade, Mr. Chao Treenawong, General Manager at Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort, said preserving the essence of Thai culture and tradition that people expect when they visit the country has been of high importance during the renovation.
“The contemporary Thai design is still a major attraction, even on a remote island like Koh Phi Phi, but it must also evolve with the times,” he said.
In addition to the newly designed rooms, Phi Phi Island Village Resort has completed its new-look restaurant Api, as well as a stylish al fresco coffee club called bean/Co. These complement the resort’s much-loved Ruan Thai restaurant.
