The incredibly beautiful island of Langkawi in Malaysia is now home to a stunning Ritz-Carlton retreat.

The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi is fringed by ancient rainforests and lapped by the clear-blue Andaman Sea, making a uniquely luxurious escape with influences from the local culture for a truly authentic touch.

The oceanfront resort blends beautifully with its surroundings and was designed to reflect local traditional kampong villages with its 90 luxurious guest rooms and suites and 29 pool villas - the most notable of which is the resort's Villa Mutiara, which hosts up to eight people and boasts two pools and access to a private beach.

The resort is also home to three swimming pools, a locally inspired spa, three restaurants overlooking the ocean, two ocean-front bars and lounges, and both indoor and outdoor wedding venues.

If keeping active is a part of your holiday agenda, there are a range of pursuits to keep you busy including an outdoor tennis court, indoor and outdoor yoga, sailing, or even deep sea fishing for the more adventurous. The on-site private cove also provides direct access to the island's famed diving sites.
