The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company continues its investment in “exotic, hand-selected, hideaway destinations” by announcing two new hotels in Asia Pacific in partnership with YTL Hotels - The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui in Thailand, and a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Niseko Village, Japan.

The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui will be located on the north-east end of Koh Samui, in the stunning Choeng Mon area. The 187-room hotel will offer a collection of dining, wellness and recreational experiences and facilities. It is expected to be completed within the next two years.

Rendering of The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui “When styling and designing a Ritz-Carlton, we are extremely conscious of the surrounding and abundant natural beauty which makes people fall in love with the destination. We want guests to enjoy and discover the extraordinary diversity and beauty to be found in this part of Thailand,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer, The Ritz-Carlton. The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui will become the brand’s second Thai resort following Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Krabi The Ritz-Carlton Reserve located in Niseko Village, home to the largest ski resort in Japan, will offer just 50 rooms. The resort will boast views of Mount Yotei and is expected to open in 2020, becoming the fifth Ritz-Carlton property in Japan, joining Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Okinawa. "Ritz-Carlton Reserves feature signature, one-of-a-kind boutique resorts positioned in unique settings, each with a distinctive personality and sense of place reflecting its history and culture. A refuge from the expected, Niseko is a natural choice to complement our existing exclusive portfolio," said Humler.
