Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced its fourth property in Europe - Rosewood Edinburgh, set to open in 2018. The hotel will be housed in the former Royal High School, a historic building on Calton Hill in the centre of Edinburgh.
Edinburgh's Royal High School was designed by architect Thomas Hamilton and built in 1829. It is to be restored by award-winning Scottish architect Gareth Hoskins. The 147-room hotel will offer “spacious accommodations and grand public spaces with panoramic views over the Scottish capital.” Amenities will include three restaurants and bars, a spa, state-of-the-art fitness centre and indoor swimming pool. In addition, event spaces and meeting rooms will include a 3,200 square foot ballroom.

Rosewood Edinburgh will become the fourth Rosewood property in Europe, joining Rosewood London; Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Montalcino, Italy; and the forthcoming Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel in Paris, which is due to open next year.
