Skyteam complete implementation of Sky Priority

Just before the end of last year, Skyteam completed implementation of its new priority concept, "Sky Priority", which is now available with all 20 member airlines and at over 1,000 airports worldwide. Thus, Skyteam becomes the first alliance to have a completely standardised priority concept that looks the same no matter which member airline you travel with. The concept was launched in January 2012 and is recognisable on signs and monitors with the text "Sky Priority" in white capital letters in a red box. The priority concept is available to passengers travelling in business class or first class, as well as those with a Skyteam Elite Plus bonus card. In addition, each airline has some freedom to decide which other passengers may use Sky Priority, such as Skyteam Elite members and silver members of their own rewards program. Sky Priority offers priority at; check-in, baggage drop-off, ticket desks, transfer desks, gate area (priority boarding), and in the baggage hall after arrival. Skyteam also stated in a press release that it is working to implement fast track at security and passport control at 60 major airports - Skyteam’s 27 hubs and 33 additional airports. Of those 60, 39 have already received fast track at security checkpoints and 21 at passport control.
