Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced a deal with Shenzhen Hazens Real Estate Group to sign W Los Angeles Downtown. Set to open in early 2019, the hotel will be located opposite the L.A. LIVE entertainment complex and will join W hotel’s in West Beverly Hills and Hollywood to become the brand’s third hotel in the City of Angels. W Los Angeles – Downtown intends to “bring its cutting-edge design and Whatever/Whenever service philosophy to this vibrant, dynamic location.”
Along with 250 rooms and suites, W Los Angeles Downtown will feature a 5,000 square foot spa with eight treatment rooms; a 2,500 square foot outdoor WET pool deck with poolside bar and grill; W Hotels the Store; and 15,300 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and event space.

, General Manager of Hazens Group, said: “After much research, study and careful consideration, we determined that the W was the perfect hotel brand for our Downtown Los Angeles development.” Work is planned to begin in 2017 with completion by late 2019. The hotel is part of a larger development by architecture firm Gensler which includes a three-tower complex featuring residential units and retail and restaurant space. W Hotels is a contemporary, design-led luxury lifestyle brand with 46 hotels and retreats, including 17 W-branded residences, and is on track to reach more than 60 hotels by 2017.
