Starwood to open ten new hotels in New York by 2018

By the end of 2018,

Starwood will add ten new hotels across its Aloft, Element and Four Points brands­ in New York State. The bulk of the new properties will be in the New York City metropolitan area. 

With the expansion, Starwood’s portfolio in New York will expand from 12 to 22 hotels­. “As Starwood’s global pipeline driver, Aloft, Element and Four Points have never been stronger, and are rapidly expanding across New York, due to the success of the brands’ distinct lifestyle positioning and widespread appeal among today’s international traveler,” said Brian McGuinness, Global Brand Leader, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood.  “With our tech-forward mindset and innovative programming—a sweet spot in the category— our brands have re-energised the mid-market space and created an unprecedented level of buzz in the development community.”

The upcoming openings in New York State include:

Four Points New York Downtown

- The 261-room hotel will be the brand’s fourth hotel in Manhattan. Full-service dining will be available at The Ketch Brewhouse, while amenities will include a gym, a business centre, and free Wi-Fi .

Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor

- Opening June 1, 2016. The hotel will offer 132 rooms within the redeveloped Inner Harbor – a 30-acre waterfront property - as well as Aloft’s signature W XYZ

bar, a Splash pool, a 24-hour fitness centre and 690 square feet of meeting space.

Four Points Manhattan Hudson Yards

- Opening September 1, 2016. Located on 10

Avenue, in Manhattan’s redeveloped Hudson Yards district on the far West side, the hotel will feature 150 guest rooms, 500 square feet of meeting space, a gym, business centre and free Wi-Fi.

Aloft Long Island City

- December, 2016. Located across the East River from Manhattan, the 176-room hotel will offer 1,000 square feet of meeting space and is aimed at both business and leisure travellers.

Aloft New York LaGuardia Airport

- February, 2017. Located directly across from LaGuardia Airport (LGA), this new Aloft will offer 135 rooms, a food and beverage area, and W XYZ bar.

Aloft New York Midtown

- December, 2017. With 360-degree views of midtown Manhattan, the 27-story hotel will feature 176 rooms, a "tech-forward mindset", innovative brand programming and easy access to the city’s top attractions.

Four Points Flushing

- April, 2018. Ten minutes from LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Four Points Flushing will feature 178 rooms, full-service dining and all the brand’s signature amenities and services, such as a 24-hour gym, business centre and free WiF.

Element Syracuse Inner Harbor

- May, 2018. The 123-room hotel will be part of a massive waterfront redevelopment project along the former Barge Canal.

Element Spring Valley

– September, 2018. Located in the Spring Valley Marketplace - a shopping centre with more than 25 shops and restaurants - the 87-room hotel will offer 500 square feet of meeting space and all the brand’s signature services and amenities.
