The Kensington reopens after 12-month renovation

The Doyle Collection’s iconic London townhouse hotel has reopened after extensive renovations over the last 12 months. The property, located in the heart of South Kensington, “now feels more like a beautiful private residence than traditional hotel,” a press release said. The property also has a new manager - Simon Maguire, formerly of Firmdale Hotels and The Atlantic Hotel in Jersey.

Its 126 rooms and 14 suites have been redesigned with elegant fabrics and custom furnishings to complement the hotel’s period architecture.

Completely redesigned spaces include the hotel’s restaurant, now called Town House; the interconnected drawing rooms on the ground floor; a new bar, K Bar; and The Knightsbridge and The Brompton Suites. The Brompton Suite, however, will not open until March 2016. It has been designed by Emily Brady of Brady Williams Studios of London.

The renovation is part of a multi-million pound investment programme across The Doyle Collection's portfolio of eight properties in the UK, Ireland and Washington DC. Rates start from £235 for a Standard Room.
