In connection with the winter timetable, Turkish Airlines are to open two new long-haul routes from their base in Istanbul. On 25th October, a new route between Istanbul and Miami will commence. The route will be operated daily with a Boeing 777-300ER with three classes on board - business class, economy class and premium economy (Comfort Class). Departure from Istanbul will be at 13:30, with arrival in Miami at 19:30. The return flight leaves at 21:30, with arrival in Istanbul at 16.30. Three days later, on 28th October, another new route, this time to Mozambique's capital Maputo, will be launched. The route will be served by three flights per week with a stopover in Johannesburg. The aircraft being utilised will be an Airbus A330. Flights will depart Istanbul on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 00:50, with arrival in Maputo at 13:00. The return flight will be the same day at 17.15, with arrival in Istanbul the next morning at 5:20. However, Turkish Airlines does not possess the traffic rights to fly passengers solely between Johannesburg and Maputo. Both routes offer connections to and from the UK. The existing route between Istanbul and Johannesburg will continue to be served with daily departures.
